First things first; set up time to go over your to-do lists and check them twice so that the plan is clear for the rest of the month as we cruise into the new year. Ask yourself: am I prepped for some well deserved time off?
Here are a few tips to help prepare you for the holiday season.
Inform team and clients of time off.
Communication is so important. Christmas and New Years fall on the weekend this year, are you taking observance days? Have you sent a note out to anyone that it may affect? Set a email auto responder letting them know you are out of the office? Post your hours at your locations and websites?
Clear communication is key here so that no one thinks you are leaving them hanging.
As one of our clients likes to ask, “What will this look like when it is easy?” How many social posts and newsletters do you need to get out this month? Can they be done in advance and scheduled? Can content be recycled from previous years? What can be automated? Is it critical, or can it wait? These are all questions you can ask yourself to help keep your holidays merry.
One of the hardest things about taking time off is knowing you will have a pile of work waiting for you once the break is over. Keep that in mind as you plan out the weeks ahead, and we can help you get things knocked out in advance so there is not so much pressure.
